Does anyone know the hot fashion names? I want to get some new clothes and I don't know the new fashion. Also I should mention I am a mother of an 8 year old and don't want to look like a hoochie. :P

it depends what look your going for and how much money you want to spend...
Do you want something sophisticated? or a little more trendy?
Personally i have never really been into specific name brands I'm more into a look of the actual clothing. If you don't want to spend too much money and want to get something trendy while still being age appropriate id say to go to *Target* they have really great stylish clothes at an affordable price.Especially lately they have been doing this thing where they get new upcoming designers and feature their clothes there for about a month or so at great prices, right now they're doing Proenza Schouler!
Another place that is very affordable and has lots and lots of variety is *Forever 21* at firs glance you might say this place is a teen store but it actually has some really great sophisticated yet unique pieces if your willing to go through ALOT of clothes.
Now if money is not an object to you then you should consider stores like Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, Rampage, MissSixty(pricey), French Connection(even pricier) BCBG Max Azria, The Limited,White House | Black Market, Max Studio and there is many many more i can name... but i think this answer is already way too long :-)

Try shopping at stores like Express, Gap, Ann Taylor Loft and Macy's. If you are more on a budget try stores like Target. Isaac Mizrahi has a great, affordable line of clothing at their stores. Good luck and I hope this helps!

Its not so much about the brands as it is about what you wear. Shop at Macy's or JCPenny and you will find plenty of clothes that are hip yet classy. I think people tend to check out your purse and shoes more than your clothes. Coach, Louis Vuitton, and Prada bags are very in brands.
