Yes, it is third degree sexual assault. Why? Because she is only a child and has not reached the age of consent. A child does not know better, and the adult is taking advantage of her youth.
If a 22 year old man cannot figure out why he can't have sex with a little girl, he will find out when he ends up in jail. Sex offenders receive a special kind of welcome there, even prisoners have daughters.

Yes. She is not considered an adult-18 to consent. Therefore it is rape.
Though I have heard of some pretty bizarre cases. Like a girlfriend and boyfriend. GF is 16 or 17 BF turns 18, BF is arrested and charged with Statutory Rape because of his GF's age. He now has to register as a sex offender, though I don't think he deserved what he got.
I am editing this to add this statement.
Guys-do not assume that a girl is an adult b/c she tells u she is. As weird as it sounds ask for id-a driver's license, state id etc.. In the long run you will glad you did. A lot of girls that go to my daughter's high school could easily pass for 18-23 years of age.

For an adult to have sex with a minor (person under 18 years of age, the legal age of adulthood), it is called "Statutory Rape". The minor is considered not old enough to be able to consent to sex, particularly since the minor is still the responsibility of the parent or guardian.
Socially, a 15-year-old is usually not wise enough to know whether an adult truly loves them, or is just using them for the sex and the thrill of having someone who worships the ground they walk on and will do anything they say. And all too often, the law has seen these men trade their girls in for a younger model when the girl gets old enough to grow a brain, gets pregnant (and subsequently MUST grow up), stops worshipping him, etc...
The law does make concessions for teenagers who have sex with someone closer to their age...after all, instead of "a stupid teen being lured by a pervert", it is considered two stupid teens doing what stupid teens do.

Yes. It is called statutory rape which is defined as having sex with an underaged person. He has no business with a 15 year old girl in the first place...He is a sex offender and a pedophile and should be locked up....
The 15 year old needs more parental control in her life.

Yes, the technical term is statuary rape assuming she was a willing active participant.
The military saying is simple 16 will get you 20.
Most states will not prosecute over a seventeen year old especially if she looks 20. but a 16 year old will get you serious jail time. Ever heard the term JAIL BAIT? When you turn 18 keep ur zipper up unless you know the girl fro long time and know she is legal to say yes!

That depends on the state. What you are asking about is, whether or not this is statutory rape.
Statutory rape is based on the belief that persons under a certain age and/or more than a certain age difference, cannot consent to sex because they are too young or too impressionable to make a logical decision about it.
In many states (like mine), there are two ways this becomes rape.
1.) The victim is under 14
2.) The victim is under 16 and more than two years younger than the perpetrator.
Check your states laws, they are public information and available at the library and possibly online.

yes, this is rape. the 15 year old might have been okay with having sex but at 15 she is not able to consent to sex. a 15 year old girl, in my opinion, should not be having sex with a 22 year old. 15 year olds shouldn't be having sex at all if you ask me. at 22 a man should not want to be with a child, which is just what a 15 year old is....a child.

Yes, statutory rape. Simply because at 15 y.o., the girl is assumed to be too young to give consent.
Personally, when I was 22, I certainly didn't find bubble-gum snapping 15 year old children attractive, and always thought any adult man attracted to children was sick. I like women, not girls. And there's a big, big difference there.

Statutory rape differs from other types of rape in that overt force or threat need not be present. By law, any such sexual activity is assumed to be coercive since the minor is considered in law as unable to give consent to the acts.

If the girl has not reached the "age of consent" according to the law of the state where the act occurred, then as an adult the man is guilty of rape even if the girl agreed. The age of consent varies, but in most places, 15 is too young.
