This should be a no-brainer but tech support I contacted is confusing. i have a westell versalink modem/router for dsl on my desktop computer. I want to connect my second desktop for dsl service using wireless. I got a wireless usb adapter & Software. When I set things up, WHICH computer gets the usb adapter--the main computer with the modem/router or the second computer I want to have feed off the modem/adapter? Should be simple but even the CD instructions just say plug in usb adapter--but don't say to which computer. Also, do i need to check about a wireless card in the second computer or does the usb adapter serve as the card?

For wireless networking you need two things: a wireless hub/router, and a wireless receiver. If your Versalink is wireless capable, it should be connected to your main computer, and your USB adapter would go in whichever computer you want to connect to the router with wirelessly.

The nice thing about wireless adapters, especially USB adapters, is that they can be moved from computer to computer as needed. Just remember that the adapter needs to be installed in whichever computer you want wireless access with.

Best of luck!
