For the ones who are old enough to remember-- when WCW first started making the picture everyone laughed cause they came into the yard of the tycoon, WWE. After several years of building up rosters and taking several wwe guys, the ratings 4 WCW started to grow. They eventually snowballed and Nitro began destroying the ratings of WWE. I love the WWE and sometimes watch TNA, but sooner or later TNA will get bigger rosters with better talent and a larger fan base. This will make both companies better and provide better shows because of competition.

That makes perfect sense except...

WCW had Billionaire Ted Turner financing it. It lost many for a long time before turning a profit.

TNA is losing money at an alarming rate and, without a single giant investor, will probably start losing investers soon.

TNA can't wait 8 years to make money. They need it now.

I have to agree with the others. TNA needs major financial backing to remain a force in pro wrestling. They have all the other ingredients in place: 1. Established, well known wrestlers like Sting, Jeff Jarrett, Christian Cage, Rhino, Jerry Lynn and Kurt Angle 2. Exciting youngsters like Jay Lethal, A.J. Styles, Samoa Joe, Alex Shelley, and Sonjay Dutt 3. Popular independent stars such as Christopher Daniels and Low-Ki 4. A foot in the door on cable television.

If they ever get financial backing, they will definitely compete with WWE. Until then, they'll remain the best non-WWE wrestling promotion around.

John C is right about the financial status of TNA. They have no Ted Turner. They need someone who is willing to go against Vince McMahon. Ted had the guts to do that but I wouldn't rule out TNA matching up to WWE in about 2/3 years time and getting recognized for their wrestling skills
