U.A.E. or otherwise the United Arab Emirates is made up of 7 emirates [ similar to the individual states in the U.S.A ].They have their own government departments but share common judicial laws.Abu Dhabhi is the federal capital where the President of the U.A.E. has his own office.
Abu Dhabhi is a nice place to live and with alot of gardens and parks in the city but not much nightlife where Dubai is most well known and popular.I been in the country 10+ years and would be happy to be in Dubai despite its increasing rental rates and expensive cost of living.

I lived in Al-Ain from '92 to '98. Al-Ain is in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. Given a choice between Abu Dhabi & Dubai I preferred Dubai.

i am in abudhabi emirate .
not in abudhabi city but very close to it .
an hours drive .
