Bad idea. Baldheaded monkeyboy Roth should go away and never come back again. Never had any talent, never will.

It's all because of the RRHOF induction but that in and of itself could be the beginning of the end. They are all supposed to be there, including Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar, and I think tensions will be high that night. Ed dumps Michael Anthony and gets his son to play bass and I just can't see Dave and Sam sharing the stage together with the rest of the band. This is mainly an induction of classic Van Halen but when the bass player from all of the albums is just left out of the new reunion, it just seems strange to me.

The first time Dave yells at Wolfie for something on the road, it will be over and I give the tour 3-4 weeks, if that, before it is a total mess. If this would have happened in 1996 like it was supposed to, it would have been MUCH bigger.

Eddie Van Halen, founding member of the American hard rock band 'Van Halen' describes the groups rehearsals with its original frontman David Lee Roth as "pure magic".

The band is all set to embark upon a musical tour later this year, during which Roth will take to the stage with founding members Eddie, his bassist son Wolfgang and Alex Van Halen.

It will be Roth's live performance with the other band members since 1984. He split with 'Van Halen' in 1985, and was later replaced by Sammy Hagar.

Eddie is, however, convinced that no one else can sing the band's classic tracks as good as Roth.

"Playing these timeless hits only works with Dave. After one rehearsal, it was pure magic," Contactmusic quoted him as telling MTV.

"I am very excited to get back to the core of what made Van Halen," he said.

David lee Roth was good in his day, the best singer Van Halen has had, but after all the years of doing drugs he doesn't have many living brain cells left and there is no way he can do any of the acrobatics he used to do on stage anymore. It is going to be like watching a rolling stones concert where the old rockers can hardly move, never mind sing. Are Van Halen desperate for money or what, they are selling themselves down the drain!

Maybe the rest of the band is getting hard up for money now too. I didn't think that would ever happen, but it is better than Extreme Van Halen. I just hope they don't screw him over again like they did when they made that compilation album a few years ago. (He thought he was coming back and then they announce Sebastian as the new singer.)

Even though Van Halen proved that they are not David Lee's band, I'd still like to see that show.

David Lee Roth was a great entertainer and singer.
However, lately he looks like a crack wh0re.
Bad idea, Davids days are long past gone.

Most VH fans have been asking for this since they broke up. Yes if I can I will be at a show. I dont think they would sign a 40 date tour if the promoters didn't think that Dave could still entertain. I dont want to see the same show I saw back in 1984, but I do want to hear the voice that sang the songs I grew up with. Should be interesting, but if they can pull it together should be the biggest tour in history.

Great idea; they will make a mint and sell out tons of shows, provided they don't kill each other first.

What I'm wondering is how they're gonna replace Mike's background vocals-- I'm sure (being EVH's kid) that 15-year-old Wolfie can handle the bass duties... although Mike was more than a competent bassist, he seldom strayed from root-hugging in his VH parts. But who's gonna handle the highest harmonies?

For the record, I'll go see 'em... been awhile since they toured, and Ed is the guy responsible for starting me on the guitar, so I'll always have a spot in my heart for 'em.

This is another pathetic attempt by Eddie to try an revitalize his career with pathetic publicity. It's sad to see someone who revolutionized rock guitar with Van Halen 1 has sunk to this level to try and put himself in the spotlight. You think that's bad? When asked on Stern if he was better than Hendrix he replied "that he had to learn to play without pedals!" Are you kidding me? Total blasphemy! Not even your (ridiculous) $25K replica guitars that you're pushing is going to save you! Sorry Ed...it's over!

I MEAN 22 YEARS CANT JUST BE ALL FORGIVEN AND FORGOTTEN LIKE THAT. I PERSONALLY LOVE VAN HALEN AND AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS TOUR. I JUST HOPE IT CAN LAST AND WONT DISAPPOINT ANY FANS.
