I want to spend this year's Valentine's day with my mistress as we're having some problems in our relationship, but I need a good lie to tell my wife. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

maybe your wife wont care, bc she's having her own affair and some younge HOT stud is gonna fu*k the sh*t out of her! shes probebly hoping that you WONT come home.
OR shes gonna be sad and end up crying bc she knows she married to a complete d*ck. DO her a HUGE favor and leave her.

I usually don't help with stuff like this, but I am in an evil mood, so I will help you with your evil question.
Do not let on that anything is amiss with the wife, and at one point, get out of the house on the pretence that you need to get something: milk, bread, cigarettes.
Then proceed to your mistress house and have a good time, spend the night, shut cell phone/pager off.
Next morning go to emergency room of any hospital and tell them you are dizzy nauseous, have splitting headache and you fainted. The will ask you if you have fallen or hit your head, you say no.
You get a nice cat scan and a hospital bracelet and you tell wifey that you spend night in hospital, you do not remember how you got there, you felt like you were having a stroke, (horrible head ache, blurred vision, dizziness, etc.)
Then say that you need to sleep and rest, and go lie down, pull the covers over your mouth and giggle.

If you wanted to think up of a lie, you should have done it last month, you are cutting it too close to the day, so anything you say, will sound like bs. You would have to be in an emergency situation for your wife to let you out of this one. You say you and your mistress are having problems, what the hell are you with her for, then? Drop her.

well, this is just not right! think about this...who are you married to? and who is more important to you? you are married so i would thing you WIFE! i wouldn't lie to your wife at all and i think you should dump your "mistress" because you are going to be spending alot of time making this up to your wife if you don't spend valentines day with her, all i can say is shame on you! I hope you do the right thing here!

I hate to be the one who brings this up, but chances are your wife probably already knows your fooling around and if she is smart then she will give you enough rope to hang yourself, in other words she will document everything and then slam you in court. My dad thought he was cheating and getting away with it and boy was he ever screwed in the divorce my mom let him go for over a year with this woman and just documented everything and even got pictures of the two of them kissing, my dad lost everything in the divorce and to this day (20 years later) I still detest the man.
Your wife deserves better.
