Dust is small particles, of anything. So dust is the colour of whatever substance it is made from - around a cement factory the dust on the trees is mid grey, for example. If you drill into pink plaster, the dust will be pink. If particles of several different colours mix, then the overall colour of the dust will tend to be some shade of brown, just as happens if you mix all the colours in a paintbox (house-proud people will tell you that pale dust accumulates on any dark surface, and dark dust on any pale surface - in fact the dust is a mid-colour). Dust exists everywhere because of (natural and man-made) processes that break stuff down into smaller bits.

Dear

Why don't you look at some dust with a strong magnifying glass
or microscope? You will certainly see fibers from textiles, plants and
unknown scources. You may also see evidence of of dander (skin Flakes)
and insects and arthropods (spider, mites, ticks, etc.). Pollen and
household insulation and foam backing from carpets are likely
constituents. I'm not a dust "buster" but I can assure you that this
is a well investigated subject

2.

Dust consist of tiny solid particles which are formed by a disintegration and/or fracture process. These processes may be crushing, grinding and impact. Particle sizes may differ: You can see some of them and some are on the other hand are indefinetily in the air.

What are the main causes of dust: Industrial and manufacturing processes are the main causes of generating dust. However, don't forget domestic activities. But of course beyond natural events such as desert storms, the major dust generating human activities are agriculture, mining, construction and chemical industry.

You can categorize dust as fibrogenic dust ( e.g. asbestos and nuisance dust (e.g. or respirable dust and inhalable dust.
You can also categorize dust as operational dust and environmental dust The last will be studied in our air quality and and air pollution section.

Dust in the home is almost entirely dead skin cells (up to 70%), but can also consist of things brought in from outside, such as dirt. Pets can also contribute toward dust creation with pet dander and fur.

Dust is, I believe, 96% human shedded skin with a very small percentage of other material such as spider webs etc. It is grey because that's the colour that old skin goes.

Dust is the stuff I'm always cleaning of my TV because some tree or something decided to die and decompose and leave little particles to float around and then fall.

dead skin cells - the human body recreates a whole new skin roughly every month - all that dead skin flakes off all over the place and deposits as dust, which is also combined with various germs, hair, fur and bug droppings! NICE!!!

Makes you wanna go polish your room now doesn't it!
