Do the words WE THE PEOPLE mean anything to some people, .... WE the People ARE the Deciders, the president is to do the WILL of the PEOPLE. not his will.

so sad really, to think that i don't understand that that idiot bush is the commander in chief, a person who's service record is questionable at best. at any rate yes he is the commander in chief, and he STILL has to ANSWER to the people. ALL THE PEOPLE!!! hence the vote to sweep his croonies from office in both houses was a big whack from the people. I still want to see just 1, just ONE little ole WMD. is that asking for soooooo much?

Without doubt this is the greatest country in the world. I do not be live any one person can add to or take away from that, they may alter the perception of us but that comes and goes daily depending on the media.
George has given the impression that we are either Warmongers or Buffoons. He seems to personally come across as a good guy just...-Not a very competent decision maker.
Regan in all his glory had a huge boo-boo called Iran Contra that is still remembered but not dwell ed on. Still he had something that George doesn't and that is appeal.
With these thing in mind doesn't it seem that the most important thing that a president have is appeal? I think that the real problem is that our country's strength lies in the middle. Our government has 2 parties that ideally represent 2 different philosophy's of life. Lately these 2 parties have been converging closer and closer together in there principals. I be live that this convergence is what is causing the real problem. No longer do we have a choice that we really can stand behind but one that is the lesser of the 2 evils that we are presented with. Since there is no longer two totally different opinions there is no middle ground and our strength has been severly compromised. So until someone raises there window, sticks there head out and yells " Hell no we aren't going to take it any more"... or a true Third party. we are just going to keep taking it.
Will it get to chancellor? I hope not. But be careful what you wish for, sweeping change is not pretty and somebody always gets hurt.
Incedentally- The house is supposed to represent the people and origanilly Senate who was supposed to represent the State's best interests were to make these decisions. The president was supposed to present it before them to gain there(Our) approval.

How silly can you get, Wizo? The answer is never. Where did you ever hear that Bush has any intention of changing the title of president ?
About that "desider" thing. The president is the one who makes decisions about war. This was started way back in the Roman Republic. They knew that in national emergencies debate in the Senate would go on and on and on, like the pink rabbit, so they appointed a dictator for the duration of the emergency.
In emergencies decisions have to be made rapidly, so the Roman idea has been used by most countries, up to the present.
The voters are the deciders in many cases, but not war. My advice to you is to study the subject before making a fool of yourself.

You thought wrong. The President IS the Commander in Chief. Whether his name is Clinton or Bush, our military doesn't need to be led by popular opinion or committee votes. That is part of the problem with our slow success in Iraq. Our boys and girls in uniform answer to the president, not you.

Never, unless the constitution is amended. The President is the Chief Executive according to the constitution, so yes, he is the decider. And yes, the voters decide who to elect, and we elected him.

If bush is really that bad, then you should move out of country right away, or else you might end up on a cattle hook or in a meat grinder.
If you dont worry about that, then you just proved yourself wrong.

My best friend came over here when the soviet union collapsed, He told me what a dictatorship is really like. My boss is from communist china, and told me horror stories about china. My neighbor spent 15 months in iraq and told me about all the stories the iraqi troops told him about being tortured.
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW GOOD WE HAVE IT!

The voters no longer have any say so. The last election was rigged.....and proved by someone that knew it for a fact and testified telling just how it was done. So.....Bush the Decider decided the outcome of the last election. And people don't think we are losing rights??
