There's a difference in having blind pride in your country and having pride enough in y our country that you can admit your mistakes and make an attempt to correct them. Some people, like myself, who are considered unamerican because we want to change America for the better want to do just that; make America a better place than it is already.

Not supporting your government doesn't mean you don't have pride. I'm proud to be American but I'm not proud of our government and the things it has done and still doing. Seems nowadays if you don't kiss Bush's *** then you supposedly don't have pride. In case you've forgotten, we have what we have now because of those who "don't have pride." They've fought to make the country better.
I'm embarassed by what our country has done in Iraq. We have killed more people than Saddam Hussein. We have lost more soldiers than the casualty of 9/11. All because of what? Faulty intelligence? Yet Bush said that if he knew then what he knows now, he would have still invaded Iraq. So what is the real reason for this war? You know what I have too much pride as an American to support what we've done. We are not a perfect country so we should always be striving to make it better. Don't say I don't have American pride because I don't agree with the government. Maybe it's you who don't have pride because you support a government that's tearing the country apart, killing innocent people, and having a lot of money to support an "invasion" but seem to lack funding to help it's own people. So tell me, do you have pride in the USA or pride in Bush?

Blind pride is folly. Isn't it possible to be proud of some things and ashamed of others, or must you believe your country is infallible? If the latter is the truth, then there is no where to live and maintain reason.

And why leave? When a law or a country is injust, why not agitate for change?

Many cons seem to have an either/or mentality. For your information it is possible to love your country but still recognize that there are problems that need to be fixed. It doesn't help anyone when people deny that they problems exist or that people who try them out are disloyal and should leave. I would rather have a country full of people who are constantly trying to make it better as opposed to a country full of people who can't be bothered and want to just go with the flow.

What a ridiculous statement! Leave and go where exactly? It's not like you can just go and live in any country that takes your fancy.

This lame old "like it or leave" attitude is just so unpatriotic, it really stinks. Since when was dissent considered to equate to having a lack of pride in your country? In fact, those that show dissent are most often trying to improve the country, not destroy it.

Quit your inflammatory and pointless bellyaching and do something yourself to improve your country.

You should say if you love it fight against the corruption that has taken over. Stop the lies, greed, waste of lives and money that now stands for America. Our leaders have caused so much harm to the whole world it may never be the same. If they really wanted to secure America they would have secured the borders. Stopped drugs instead of putting the border agents in jail and spend money on making the lives of all citizens better not just the greedy and corrupt. You might want to start by asking Bush what happened to the 12 billion dollars of American tax payers money that was sent to Iraq and is missing.

The thing I don't like right now is the bad things being said about the president and the military. What ever happened to united we stand divided we fall. It is like having a family member that has a problem and you don't want to be involved with it but you give them support and hope they can get themselves out of the problem. You don't go to their enemy and talk bad about them, tell them how stupid they are and laugh because they have a problem if you do these things you are helping them lose. Have some pride if you destroy your own from within what are you left with?

Yeah well there are TWO WAYS to look at it, when the country/world starts to GO DOWN THE TUBES you can "run for the hills" or you can STAND UP and PUSH on to make the necessary changes... obviously AMERICA has been flawed for quite some time in many aspects, from the SYRINGE RAPING to the "sublime levels of legislated CORRUPTION", amazing that you can "write something in" and then it's really not considered corruption if you do it that way... what a SICK USA we have, eh?

Think about it....

sometimes when you are "out-numbered" yes you may decide to "run" for the time being to REGROUP and perhaps later do something about it, or if there is too much sickness and you are really that out-numbered well you may die that way... that's sad... WHERE IS FREEDOM
