Pakistan's currency unit is the Rupee, with one rupee equivalent to 100 paise. There are currently 3 denomination of coins in circulation: 1, 2 and 5 rupees. And 5 denominations of banknotes : 10, 20, 100, 500 and 5000 rupees. Additional 3 banknotes in the denominations of 5, 50 and 1000 rupees will be issued in near future. All these 8 banknotes are part of the new 2005 series released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

Rupee is divided into 100 Paise
Coins are minted in denominations of Rs 1, and 50, 25, 10, 5, 2, 1 Paise
