I have noticed that there are a lt of KIDS on here talking about being "veteran fans" cause they have been fans since 1996, and "The Attitude Era," and what not. I've watched professional wrestling since I was 4 in '86 and I dont even bragg about being a long time fan. There r fans like me that have watched wrestling before most of u highschoolers were even born or thought of, so why do some of u feel the need to bragg about how long u watched?

Like you I have watched wrestling since the late 80's and yeah it can be annoying but so are all know it alls. like when a movie is remade and a bunch of kids think it's so original. I honestly heard a kid saying "Godzilla is so much cooler than what was out in the 60's" just after that mathew broderick version came out. It made me a little sad. Oh and to people who knock on wrestling all together. YES we know it's choreographed and story's are written. But with all the American Idol and America's next top models on TV nowadays is it really much worse watching giant men pound the crap out of eachother than watching some skinny twig people cry their brains out cause they didn't win some lame contest.

I've been watching wrestling since 1978. I have kept up with AWA, NWA, ICW, WWWF, WWF, WWE, Midsouth, WCW, and any other letters I may have forgotten. You were 3 years old when I was going to high school dressed as the Macho Man for career day. I have promoted matches with thousands in attendance and some matches with only hundreds in attendance. And I don't count you as any less of a fan than I am. I tis important to remember we all started as little marks at one time and without all the fans the wrestling industry doesn't exist. You don't have to have a wrestlers baby to qualify as a fan or have worked in the industry to have a working knowledge of what is going on in wrestling news.

Be patient with the little marks for you were once one yourself, as was I.

Started watching wrestling about '91-'92ish. However, I watch a lot of "classic" matches on VHS and DVD going back to the 70s. I don't know if that counts or what as an answer.

Scott that is what I have been trying to say all the time that these so called fans are nothing but fakes. Instead of them being on here lying they should have their heads in the books trying to be someone in life.

When I tell the truth they do nothing but deceive others and try to cover up their deceit.

Especially when I post about the gorgeous Antoinette "Nicesty Girl' who is actually the mother of Ric Flair's daughter Tasha, mother of Curt Hennig's daughter Samantha and mother of Kurt Angle's son Steven. When I stated the truth that Steven is the only child of Kurt's they do nothing but lie and do not know what they are talking about.

A lot of websites have nothing but lies on it. They feel that more than the majority of viewers are so stupid that they would believe anything.

I'm straight forward and only tell it like it is.

Kyra is not Kurt's daughter but she is in the family. Kody is not his son either. It is the truth.

Are you kind of doing the same thing now?

And anyway, they ARE longterm fans, as sad as that may seem to you and I who have watched for much longer.

Jim Cornet developed the 'seven year plan' which says that in 7 years enough of the fan base of wrestling will change that you can start doing the same gimmicks again.

Anyone who's watched since 2000, then, could be considered a long-term fan.

Also, speeking as a 'veterin' wrestling fan myself, the younger fans today are stupid, and stupid people like to feel smarter then the next stupid fan.

I dunno, just my thoughts.

its just because kids think they are so much more mature that they start sounding like adults trying to convince people they have been a fan for sooooo long and that they know more about anything than anyone. thats why i hate young people.

yea i would agree with the guy above... i mean, i always thought it was a way for a man to be able to watch sweaty men all grabbing on eachother in little underwear and stuff, and get away with it without being called a "Fruit"...well, thats why my husband likes to watch it anyways ;)
