I just have to take a break. Not a long break (some things just can't wait for a vacation) but a short break...like the time it takes to make and drink a cup of tea. I turn of all outside influences (tv, radio, lights, phones, etc...) and I sit in my most comfortable chair.

This is the tricky part...I turn off my worries. I close my eyes and focus my thoughts on less worldly things. I just concentrate on the little balls of light that I see right after closing my eyes and let my mind wrap itself around the concept of light floating behind my eyes.

When my tea break is done, I am in a quieter place. I can handle things much better. Then ascend from my private place to the world: I turn on the phone, the lights, etc...and get back to the worries that I know and love.

I agree with the idea of a hot bubble bath, maybe a warm glass of wine, or a really good movie. Something mindlessly happy, or that I can get into. Also, the baby steps, cut the problems up, or take on the small stuff first, anything that makes YOU feel good...
No hurting of self or others, it just adds more work later...

I get in the hot shower and cry. It just seems to help release some tension. Then again, sometimes it doesn't work. I tried it last night and still felt like crap afterward.

Think about a better time and try to "re-live" it. If I don't have to work the next day I just drink my butt off until I forget.
