Think about it.

This does not go for everyone, but sometimes i have noticed that the people who come on here with the nice office jobs, the people who get to work in warm conditions, over a desk and a computer, are sometimes the ones who are spoiled rotten seemingly.

Am i one of the only few people on here who grew up poor? Am i the only one who has to ride a bike in the freezing cold to work every day, while the majority of the rest get to play on their computers at work?

Fortunately i do have plans, but it seems that hardly anyone on this site could relate to what i have been through. Or is there? Am i one of the only few people on here who didn't grow up spoiled?

nope, i was in foster homes all my chilhood and i can say a few of them werent right in the head. and when i lived with my mom all we got was her ssi check and food stamps. 4 people living the whole month on 600 dollars. not so easy. i just got out of that situation. i moved in with my boyfriend and im grateful for everything that i have. unfortunatly my brother is still with my mom and help them out with money everynow and then. i left my 3 dogs over there and i do not expect them to have to buy the dog food so i do that. and my mom has me help with bills. she just got on HUD (housing assistance) so things should be better. I dont make much but i do try to give what i can. i work at mcdonalds, so does my 2 aunts. i make 5.65 an hour. now that i live with my bf i can say that im spoiled but im thankful for what i get. i dont have the office job but i do have school with two computer classes. i have plans for myself too. im trying to save up for a car right now. and in the fall i will begin college. i hope everything gets better for you. i like this question, i dont think ive ever wrote this much on an answer.

I kind of wish I were born 3 or 4 years earlier so that I could have experienced what my brothers had. My parents and 2 brothers moved a lot, to low cost apartments and church houses, but not in the ghetto. My parents struggled to make money and a year before I was born they moved to a house that needed lots of remodeling and we still live here and it still needs remodeling. I heard so many stories of cold winters with no heat and god providing food when they were hungry. I feel so spoiled from their stories : (

I think there are more people here going through tough times than you might realize. I walk my daughter to daycare and I walk to work; I've got bills that are behind because my husband lost part of his income two years ago and we are still trying to recover from that. I've got tough stuff too, and I didn't grow up spoiled contrary to what some people might believe...yeah I'm lucky because my office is warm and I can get on here at work, but....I really think there's more people here that are "real" than we all might know.....I'm not knocking your question or anything, just trying to let ya know that I know :)

I grew up relatively poor. We wore hand-me-down clothes that Mom got from rummage sales. I've had to walk to work in the blazing heat AND in the freezing cold. Not everyone that has a computer is spoiled.

You think you're the ONLY one who grew up poor? Whaaa. You're not, by far.

And don't tell me you grew up poor until you've had to live without electricity cause the bill was unaffordable, or ate pancakes made of water and flour (No syrup) cause flour was the ONLY food in the house.

Get over it - just because we've come up and out of the poor range in life and managed to do other things with our lives doesn't make us spoiled. Makes us the epitome of American values - pulling ourselves up by our own bootstraps.

Tell you what, I'll trade you the bike for my car. At least the bike is reliable. My car is far from it. While you're at it, how about you pay off my student loans?

Plenty of minimum wage computer jobs out there, plenty of places to get your own computer - a brand new one - for less than $500.

Stufff your assumptions and go jump. Obviously you have access to a computer too, you whiner.

There are different levels of being spoiled...I didn't have to ride the bus, or walk 10 miles to school in the snow, but I didn't get everything and anything I wanted either...
I didn't grow up spoiled, just priviledged I guess, I feel for you, but there are plenty of people out there riding the bus, working in less than ideal conditions, and they aren't whining!!!!!

I'm the sixth of seven children. My dad was a truck driver and my mom had SEVERE emotional instabilities that prevented her from staying employed outside of the home. I grew up poor and my husband and I have worked hard for everything we've got now.

Don't let the man keep ya down!

It'll be alright, and I know what you mean.

I think the a lot of people, here or otherwise, are spoiled brats. (You forgot self-centered.)

I'm white and have a tolereable job, but I've been through the tough times too.

You keep workin' those plans. You'll get there.
