I was offered several different jobs and I could only choose one so i had to turn down the other offers. Will me turning down these other offers prevent me from being hired there in the future? I know of businesses that will black list you if you quit without giving a 2 week notice but can rejecting a job offer black list you too?

Well - I'm sure they can hire whoever they want, as long as there is not a civil rights issue about it. I've worked in HR before, and believe me - they know how to make a shady deal look legit.

On the other hand, any company that would blacklist you for qualifying for too many jobs, is probably a pretty absurd place to work anyhow.

Congrats on interviewing so well in several positions! :-)

It depends how you go about it. First of all honesty is always the policy in anything, so be honest with the ones you turned down and tell them what they would tell you if they turned you down.

"dear sirs, while the position you offered is an exciting opportunity, I have chose another company who at this time closely matches my career search, I will keep your offer in mind in the event my job search opens up again, thanks for the opportunity."

Yes.

Compaies DO hold grudges. Also, if you do want to move on in the future - and the hiring manager from the other company moves on - and your paths cross again - guess what - that is ANOTHER company that you may be blacklisted with.

They can certainly decide not to hire you. But why are you already so worried about finding another job if you just got one? Frankie say: RELAX!

If the company so desires, sure. There is nothing illegal in doing so,
