I have a 1997 Nissan Maxima. I'm having trouble getting it to start in cold weather. I recently got a new battery for it (2 mo ago) and a new alternator (3 mo ago). I usually have some trouble getting it to start on any morning (always the 2nd try) but when its really cold outside it just won't start :( I tried to start it this morning and ran the battery out (once again) from trying to start it up.
What do I do? Do I need to take it to the shop? I need some advice... please help! Thanks!

Of course it sucks. As the pistons go down they create a vacuum which helps to draw the air fuel mixture in...

Sorry, that wasn't your question, was it? Yes, take it in and tell your mechanic to have a look at the cold start system since it doesn't want to start on cold mornings. Have him look at your plugs too if you can't remember the last time they were changed.

Listen, I have problems all the time. There is something wrong with you ignition, you may have a short a need a new spark plug. Get that check out by a tech. I learned my lesson with these fake mechanics. Go to a nissan dealer they are more exspensive but they will fix your car with no problem. The labor is high but at least you will have a warranty.

Engines do not suck and they are not vacuum pumps.
