it's called grooming. It's part of monkeys social interaction and tactile stimulation, plus it helps them keep their fur clean not only from parasites but also from dirt and dead skin. Like someone said, it's very important for them to mantain social relationships and they often do it to make up after a fight and to establish some sort of heirarchy.

Grooming is a means of social bonding within the group. They are eating lice but it also serves a purpose by strengthening the bonds and establishing the pecking order.
