at my house we toast a plain bagel then put a slice of cheese (american kraft singles) on it and then microwave it for 10 seconds. apparently this is strange to most people so i was just wondering what is "the norm" for you guys.

Since I can never make up my mind I put butter on one 1/2 and cream cheese on the other. If I'm somewhere I can't brush my teeth right away I just use butter so I don't have "cream cheese teeth". =p

The American cheese is a southern thing-probably came about after cheese toast. I prefer cream cheese on a toasted or cold bagel. BUT-some mornings I use organic peanut butter and lick the melting, dripping peanut butter off the sides before eating it!

We make pizza bagels. Spread some pizza sauce on the bagel, top with pepperoni slices, add some cheddar and Parmesan cheese and seasoning, then place under the broiler for 4 minutes.

I sometimes eat mine with cheese like that, very yummy, but hard to time the microwave just right, other wise the cheese gets hard, or not melted. Generally, we eat out bagels toasted with either cream cheese or butter. Thanks for making me hungry again! lol

I put cream cheese on mine. I don't like putting bagels in the microwave, they get soft. I like my bagels nonsoft.

Cream Cheese---both plain and flavored
And sometimes I'll put sauce, mozzerella, and spices on it and bake it for Pizza Bagels

I like cream cheese. For a special treat, I'll use Strawberry cream cheese. Sometimes I'll just toast it with butter.
(Boy, does MY life sound exciting! Woo hoo! lol.)
