Like assign numbers to common questions such as....

1. Are you born gay or do you choose to become gay?

2. Do you support gay marriage?

Great idea. That way we can avoid the repeat questions about born gay or choosing it. If they would read them as well, they'd realize how repetitive it is and the answer never changes.

And:

3. Can some really be bisexual?

4. Did you always know you were gay?

5. Did you know that the Bible says it's an abomination to be gay?

We also need a numbered list of stock answers.

Of course, that's not the nature of this feature. Contrary to popular belief this site wasn't set up to serve the needs of the LGBT "community" and this category wasn't set up as a favor to us, but to keep the sex stuff out of the other categories (did you know that LGBT is just a small fraction of the available categories?).

It wouldn't work anyway. I mean, if I type in a question: "Are you born gay?", Yahoo offers me a sample of other questions JUST LIKE MINE that were previously asked. So, people have the option of looking at the other questions and answers for that subject. And yet, they STILL post the same questons over and over. Numbers won't work.. FAQs won't work. You will still have people that find it neccessary to ask their question, even if it has been asked 17 times in the last week.

I really wish this would happen. Or even better, that people would look for similar questions before they post the exact same thing. I have searched questions many times and gotten enough of an answer that I had no need to post. Plus I didn't get docked the 5 points!

I've previously written to Yahoo! asking them for a category specific FAQ list. Think of the server space they'd save from not having repeat postings!

Brilliant idea, that way when we see the number we can simply ignore it and move on to more substantive questions.

Cheers Tab H, good on ya.

That would make things much simpler. But how do we get the ignorant or trolls to adopt the system??

LOL, or my favorite; What is sex? Hey, we should do the common answers by a letter system, like A-Z then AA-ZZ. That way we could talk like a chinese take-out menu.......
