The oldest Ive ever seen is 4, but typically not past 2 or 2 1/2.

i think they normally live for 2 years,but i had one once that lived for about 3. loved that hamster i did! thats talking about the golden hamsters....Russian hamsters can live for 6 years i think - they are the smaller ones which are grey with a black stripe down their backs and they can live together, not alone.

Hamsters don't have a very long life, usually under a year. However my sister had one which lasted about a year and a half.
