I have a degenerative illness and I made it clear to my family and husband that if it come to that ,not to put me in life support. most of them understood but my husband did not. After endless and ugly arguments, I decide to sign a DNR ( do not resuscitate order) So, it's clear that not every body are ready to let go....

After hearing some of the news stories here lately of people actually waking up and talking after being in a constant vegetative state.....I guess I would have to think long and hard before I did. Of course I would not make this decision alone. I would ask the other family members for their input. I would also consider the wishes of the person.

Of Course!!! If you truly love them, then why would you keep them aroung this lifetime in a vegetative state. What do they get out of that, and for all we know, we could be holdin them from glory!!! I don't think there is anything about a vegetative state that is helpful or healthy to the patient. It only helps those left behind to have somethin to hold on too. Last I checked, love is not selfish

First, if this is happening to you I'm very sorry that you have to go through this.
If the doctors say there is no hope of recovery and he's technically brain dead, then yes, I would pull the plug because it's the most humane thing you can do for yourself, for him, and for his other loved ones. Begin the grieving process, and move on with your life when you feel like you can. I'm sure he wouldn't want you to sit beside his body for the rest of your life.

that is a really hard decission to make but if he was going to be like that for the rest of his life, I think I would, because knowing him he wouldn't have a great life being a vegetable. and if the doctors thought that their won't be any thing more that they can do to help him,
