I hate exams. I know they aren't perfect, I see students answer a question orally then get it wrong on a test. We all learn and express things better in different ways. Some find it easy to memorize a bunch of stuff quickly and do well, but a week later are no better or worse than those who made a C. In life...knowledge and ability is it's own reward, but in school you are in a class. Students may not like tests, but the idea of fairness and treating everyone in the group the same is something we all deep down like the sound of. Most are okay with a bad grade if they feel it was fair. Special education recognizes that traditional tests aren't perfect, but has different goals. If you are able to participate in a general learning environment..accept the shortcomings and do your best and be thankful.

You are right . There is no need to have examinations for talent.
Basic knowledge of English Language is more than sufficient. Students can browse through the internet and learn or go to Library read magazines and books and learn also.
For example, by going to libraries and reading I learnt much more than in Schools and Colleges.
In India there is a downfall of students going to engineering colleges.especially in Tamilnadu.
