Thats a good question.

I use iTunes on a new MacBook and the sounds levels still don't burn at the same volume. Even when you set the preferences to do so. I use Limewire to download.

Sorry I can't give you the answer, hope we both get the answer though.

i know itunes has a volume adjuster, or did have not sure now. err the old version of roxio did have some mixing and editing features but they simplified the new one.
A good free music editing software, Audacity, is quick and easy to use and you can adjust the volume there. The first time you save the mp3 you have to download the mp3 codec called LAME. As this is not part of audacity, its pretty easy and you only need to do it once. Look for it at http://sourceforge.net/search/?type_of_search=soft&words=audacity
Hope this helps.

I-tunes has an option in its preferences that will adjust the volume so that all songs play at the same level.

If you look under properties tools on media player for rip, burn, there is a box you can check that buffers all audio you rip and burn to the same level. this will fix your problem without a down load.
