You've got to start by identifying your strengths. I don't know the Bruin organization that well, but I believe Thomas is going to be solid in goal for a long time. I view that as a strength.

The B's have too much cap space tied up in Chara in my opinion. He's great - a premier defender - but it's just too much money for 1 player to be making in today's NHL.

As a Sabre fan I may be biased, and their present problems excluded, they've built a team correctly. Briere makes the most at $5mil, but the rest of the team is loaded with guys in the $2mil range. All you really need to do today is hold the other teams' top line (or 2) of the score sheet and hurt them with your 3rd and 4th lines. That's what the Sabres do, roll four lines and wear down the other teams top lines.

I've read reports that Sturm "doesn't fit" the direction the team wants to take. I don't know what that direction is, but if that's true, he's a commodity than can pay big dividends at the trade deadline. Whatever direction they've chosen, they need to stick with it.

Let me also add, I may be a Sabre fan, but my favorite all-time player is Bobby Orr.

Yeah if they want to make the Playoffs, My Habs are 29-19-6 with 64 Pts, that's good enough to get Home Ice Advantage at least in First Round, Your Bruins are 23-24-3 with 50 pts, your 9 points behind Carolina for Final Playoff Spot.

This season is not a Lost Cause but its time for Bruins to seroius because If they do nothing they won't make the Playoffs I'm not a Hater of the B's I just timing for them is off, so get to work guys.

I think that I would start by trying to assemble 2nd and 3rd line's with continuity. If you have noticed that past few years that teams win less off star power and more off continuity. Also, trade older players for a few young defenseman. Bad goaltending can be overcome by good defenseman. Next do not over pay for average talent in the offseason. Chara has always been over rated. Lastly bring in some legacy players, Orr, Donato, Borque...to work with a few of these players and tell them more about the glory days. The Flyers do that well most years (this year being anexception).

I think that the sabres beat them 7-1 and then 3-1 back to back with a back-up goalie. But if I were them I would try to pick up Foresburg.
