I graduated in May 2006 with a degree in English. My plan was to work for a year and then go to graduate school.
I have tried applying for lots of "McJobs," since I don't have much work experience. I tried getting into the service (no luck), CNA programs, and more. I had a crummy customer service job for one month, and was let go (I admit, I was horrible at it). It's now been nearly two months since that happened, and I'm getting depressed.
What can I do? I have no form of transportation. I love dogs and arts and crafts, and libraries. I have no money. Graduate school is not an option. Getting an associate's degree isn't either.
A lot of the places where I live won't hire people who have B.A. degrees for jobs in fast food places and such since it's an economically depressed area. I tried a temp agency, and that didn't work either. I would like to consider opening a business where I crochet things for people or dog-sit, but I know nothing about running a business.

First you need to calm down, we have all been there. I think that if you want to and there is a need for dog sitting in your area then maybe that is what you need to do: start a pet sitting business. You can do this from you home and or go to near by places. If you already have a degree I would suggest working on maybe a teacher or a newspaper columnist for a local paper.

Good luck!
