It is possible for "twin" chicks to develop, but they rarely live. They would be very small. I do know of a few cases of twin canary chicks actually surviving.

The yolk (not 'yoke') of an egg provides the food for the growing embryo which starts on the side of the yolk. If there are two yolks, there is a good chance there will be two embryos in which case twins will grow in the one egg. Young hens just starting to lay are more likely to produce multiple yolked eggs.

its not the yoke that would determine how many chicks would be fertilized. there would have to be 2 embryo's in the egg as well. the yoke is kinda like the placenta not the embryo.

The rooster must be present for an egg to be fertilized. Most eggs that you buy at the supermarket are from hens that are raised without a rooster being present. Roosters are not necessary at egg farms where eggs are produced for consumption. Eggs for incubation are grown at special farms called breeder farms where roosters are present with the hens.

Not often, one of the chicks would end up dominating the other and use up all the food(albumn) making the other one die. And even if it did happen they would be very small and really wouldnt amount to anything, and if it happened on a poultry farm the owner would kill them so they dont have to waste feed.

You are coorrect, commercial eggs are not fertilized. If they were ,yes, there would be twins. I have seen eggs with 7 yolks on a poultry farm.
