What binds us as humans are the "nature" things like maternal instincts etc. What makes us different are the "nurture" like the role of males, elders etc. I cannot speak for the african americans. I do know that the chinese are family centric with males playing a significant role as providers. I further know that as "nurture" is a learned behaviour, assimilation plays an important role. Depending on the generation and the length and time the individuals have stayed in America, the value sets change accordingly. Globalisation has blended many cultures. I believe this to be a good thing. It stops sectarian xenophobia and open our eyes to what is good around us.

Wow, that's a tall order! Probably the largest one is the chinese rarely use discrimination (even though there is a large amount in some areas) as an excuse. The chinese seem to have struck a balance in maintaining their original culture and fitting into to "American" culture. This doesn't seem limited to the chinese most oriental/asian groups seem to be fairly successful in doing so.

chinese culture HAVE NO SIMILARITIES with afro american culture. though american chinese culture share alot of similarities cus they listen to loads and loads of hiphop loll. and afro americans love to watch kungfu movies and learn chinese martial arts i guess. one more thing, it's from an observation: chinese descendants and african descendants uses alot more "visual cues"(pictures) in their language representation as compared to other cultures.

what's puzzling me is that why you chose these 2 groups and make comparison when they're really different to begin with.

I read in a different tread that black people founded China and started the dynastys. I have never read that in China so i feel confused. We only have some black people in GuangZhou and they are all from Africa (traders). I feel angry if thats the case, I am so proud of the dynasties in China and i watch programs almost every day, no black ppl.
