I was watching a special on G4 TV on Attack of the Show where there was a debate whether the Playstation 3 was a failure or not. They said it wasn't selling as well as some thought. Then they show crowds of people who camped out just to buy the console. What is so bad about the console?

actually its not that way. it depends on what games you wanna play.
ps3 is having all types of games like RPGs, Sports, Action Adventure and all genres in the pipeline.
Its because its a bit costly that may be the reason. But if you look this way- 360+hd dvd player is much much costlier than that of ps3 which has inhouse blue ray player.
So dont worry man. i have a ps3 and i love it more than any damn out there

it probably wasn't worth the money and isn't all it's cracked up to be
i mean when you see all these motion sensor video game consoles
then you see the PlayStation 3 or like an updated, overpriced version of the PlayStation 2? I mean it cost 600 dollars that's the highest i think they've ever marked a video game console at least at PlayStation.

Sony were (might still be) having problems with the cost to manufacture the console. apparently for them to make a profit, sony has to sell over a million consoles due to the loss they were making on each console. something like $100 on each if i remember correctly

It really isn't altho i don't like it thats much but hay it really isn't think about this Blu-Ray is $999.99 thats $1000 dollors but for $600 it's the best deal and well the graphics are to bright thats what makes most HD games look so real it's brightness and well ya thats preety much it. Remember i don't really like the PS3 but it is not a failer so ya hope i helped

As with every new product [including Windows Vista], there are plenty of bugs which needs to be panned out, before it is considered good, or at least to an acceptable functioning level.
