Here's the deal with due dates... The further along you get in your pregnancy the less accurate the ultrasound will be in determining your due date (this is what I have been told by my doctor and ultrasound tech with all 3 of my pregnancies). Now, during 9 months of pregnancy you will go through 10 lunar months. I'm not sure the date of your period but if you would like to calculate your due date please refer to the link I will place below. This link will also explain in more detail about the lunar months. GOOD LUCK & CONGRATS!

Ultrasounds suck. When I had mine, they told me my due date was in April. Well, there was no way I could have possibly been due at that time. However, when they went back and calculated the old fashioned way ~ first day of my last period, they got a little closer with my due date ~ and the funny thing is, I had a period my first month of pregnancy. They then gave me a due date of May 8. Needless to say, I had my son on the 3rd of May. The problem with ultrasounds is they take all these measurements of the baby to determine the due date based on the size. My son was 9lbs and 21 inches long and he was a week early. So, I don't think ultrasounds are all THAT accurate. I think they give you a good "idea" but not totally accurate. Then again, NOTHING is completely accurate.

My ultrasound due date was Aug. 16th, the due date my doctor gave me was Aug 19th, I ended up delivering on Aug 18th. I however have heard that your first ultrasound is the most accurate so I wouldn't worry about your due date because they only gave you 1 day differance beside a due date is just an estimate anyway you could go a week earlier or a week later.

Here's the scoop....
If done in the first trimester (your 7 wk one) they are VERY accurate. Because at that age, the baby is not going to be bigger or smaller then another baby the same age.
Later on in pregnancy, your babys genes kick in and might measure to be older than originally thought if the bones measure big.
Also these things are performed by humans so there's always a margin for error.
If I were you, i'd go with the first ultrasounds dates. Don't worry about your doctor being one day off. One day means verry little in the big picture here.
Also, ultrasounds like the one you had at 19 weeks and ones you might recieve later, are likely to be 5 days off either direction. That's very common.
Good luck with your baby!!! Just about another month to go!!

Your due date is based on the first day of your last period. Ultrasound is not that accurate - they can only guestimate based on average size and you're usually given a date which will be plus or minus 2 weeks - it's generally used in the rare case of being pregnant and still experiencing a period.

the earlier the ultrasound the better they can determine the due date of the baby but she was a week off on my first which i had a normal ultrasound with. with this one i had an early one and a normal one but she didnt change the date. but sperm can live in the body for 5 days so there is no real knowing what the outcome will be.

Usually the first ultrasound(the one where they do what they called the Rump- Head measurement is the most accurate). I've had two children though and have NEVER gone on my due date. My first was 6 weeks early and my second was 2 weeks early

Yes, early ultrasounds are fairly accurate for due dates. The later the ultrasound, though, the less accurate it is because every baby is different by then.

At 7 weeks they are pretty accurate. In the 1st trimester all fetues grow at the same rate in the womb. A day really won't make a difference. It's only like 10% of babies are born on their actull due date.

U/S are within about 2 weeks. They can never really say for 100% Most women don't go on their due date. Most first time pregnancys go to about 41 or 42 weeks then they induce. As long as you make it to 37 weeks you will be fine.

I only know one girl EVER that had her baby exactly on her due date. Thats my best friend Keysha and she had her son on the day. Which was just crazy to me.

But I'm sure they are pretty close. They have changed mine they keep taking weeks away from me! But I told em hell no you aren't taking time away from me. B/c I KNOW when I had sex ad I could only be a few days off. But they don't wanna listen...oh well. My baby will prove it to them.
