Surely, USA will fall like any other super power. It's inevitable and apparently, it's on its way! My question is, among the promising countries, who do you think will be likely to take the rank of being the most powerful country in years to come? China, India, EU others. Thanks!

Come to think of it, US support from the international community is disintegrating. There have been a growing number of countries unsupportive if not hostile towards US's foreign policies.
Economically speaking, if you look at the trade relations of US and China, there's a great trade deficit on the part of US. Moreover, US's position as the world's largest trading partner is getting lesser. China, India and EU on the other hand is doing the opposite (getting better).
Military wise, US cannot even stop the uprising in Iraq. Considering US's military capacity, they can't put an end to Iraqi terrorists. To date, how many Americans died and yet US has accomplished less to call its plight a success.
On the other hand, the greater number of US's opposition and the diminishing allies of US will ultimately contribute to US's downfall.

Economically, China is well on it's way to becoming a Superpower. India doesn't hold the necessary resources to become a superpower and the EU is too appeasing to other nations on the rise to be an effective superpower.

China is a superpower and has been for decades. India still has decades to go before they are considered a power at all, they have serious domestic issues to tackle, just having nukes doesn't make a country a world power.
The EU isn't a world power at it still fails to fuction like a single unit. There are too many disparate components. Once china deregulates their economy and opens the yuan up for investors the euro and the dollar will plummet. The failure of the euro will lead to the beginning of the end of the EU.

The "fall" of the USA is not inevitable. However, it will not long be the global hegemon it is today. It will remain a super-power because of its ability to deploy force on a global scale within a short period of time.
Both China and India are on their way. The EU is a joke.
THe advantage of India over China is that India has more liberty and a more profitable and honest banking system. Much of the growth of China domestically is advanced in foriegn investment and also internally financed defaulted loans.

the full concept of large powers is so "twentieth century". With extra international places being in touch in international commerce treaties i'm questioning that the international would be polarized lower back. No jap and western camps, yet this time, wealthy severe high quality products exporters Vs unfavourable row cloth exporters, If I had to wager a sparkling large potential in the 21st century i might wager China. This u . s . is sucking potential, investments and extensive contracts from everywhere else in the international. it relatively is stunning how this variety of extensive financial device can relatively strengthen at a severe cost which contain 8% annual cost. A booming financial device became into key to China to undergo progression in the political game as nicely.

I think probably it will be India. China will come up fast, but their political climate and lack of education for many of their rural citizens will hamper their growth. The EU COULD be the next superpower, but there are too many factions for them really to speak with a unitary voice (just look, for example, at the economic ideals of France vs. Britain vs. Italy...). India has a large, educated workforce. While many Indians are still very poor, wealth is just pouring into the country. They have the drive to fit in with the Western world and a really high work ethic. Besides the fact that they have a very high population density and not a whole ton of natural resources per population, I think they're the most likely, at least in the short term.

China's economy is rapidly growing and their population is finally slowing down. Along with a standing army of 2-3 million, they are absolutely the next superpower.

China, trust me, China. All they have to do is push a button and they can wipe out our power grid, satelites, all records of anything - they already know how to do it. Not to mention the trade we do with them, the army they have, the population.. oh yeah, definately China.

China, India, Iran are all would-be superpowers. China in my opinion is a superpower already; the press has not embraced it yet.
