Most golds are mixed with different metals to make alloys. Very seldomly will you see pure gold (which only comes in yellow). Red gold has more copper in it, giving it the reddish color.

White gold can be mixed with a few things. Most commonly it is mixed with nickel and silver and plated with rhodium. The rhodium gives it the shiny look. However, because it is just plated with rhodium, over time, the plating will wear off and it'll turn yellow again. You can always get it replated.

Another type of white gold (more commonly called gray gold) is when they mix it with palladium (from the platinum family). This does not need to be plated and will keep the white color. However, this is not a common practice, and you would need to specifically look for white gold mixed with palladium.

Because the process can take longer, often the white gold costs more. This doesn't necessarily mean that it is worth more, but the effort has made the price go up. You'll see a significant price jump when you buy gray gold pieces. A good example is looking at the price jumps in a gold watch (most fine watches are made with palladium, not the regular white gold).

white gold is a mix between gold and different metals, usually silver. White gold is less valuable that gold, because the quality is lower

The difference is what the gold is alloyed with. Different alloys give a different colour. The value is the same.

NB: White gold is NOT platinum. Platinum is another metal which is more expensive than gold.
