Pugs are friendly, sweet dogs, whose bark is pretty quiet (so if you do not like noise ... this is the dog for you). Most are very content to be lap-sitters.

The one thing -- no matter the way you feed the dog, they like to be sitting in a lap and be petted. But watch out ... when they are really content ... they do have a tendency to let out a silent "gas" cloud ... and yes, it was definitely funny to watch the reaction of those who though 'such a nice doggy' all of a sudden wrinkle up their noses and pass the 'ugly' dog to one side ...

I own a black Pug and I love him.

Pugs are very mild mannered people driven little dogs.
They are happy and get along well with other animals and with all visitors and children.

They are easy to train and food motivated.
They are sensitive little dogs though and can get their feelings hurt if you yell at them.
They are remarkable companions and only want two things:
Food and a lap to lay on.
They are snuggly and have a great sense of humor.
They will eat until theres no food around, so you have to be careful not let them get too fat.
Pugs are wonderful little creatures that will be loyal and dedicated to you.
They don't bark excessively, but will bark when someone's at the door. They don't yap excessively.
I love my Pug and would recommend them to anyone who wants a dog that is basically for snuggling.
Everyone loves my Pug and Ive had offers from strangers which ive always turned down.
You have to keep their face wrinkles clean and they hate that.
**** Very Important***
Pugs are very susceptible to extreme heat and extreme cold...so please make sure you can adjust their environment. They overheat in intense heat and can die.
They should never be outside dogs!

My friend has a pug named Rosie, She is very sweet, She will lick your face off...lol, She is trained to use a puppy pad and does really well but, My friend lives in an apartment and is not consistent with her training. Pugs make good house dogs, they generaly are not barkers but, they are a bit hyper.
