And what about all of the increased maintenance on these much bigger homes? Most of these families don't seem to have the means to pay for these increased expenses. Hate to ask the hard questions but it would be interesting to see follow up stories on some of these families.

The families do!

My sister told me the other day that she saw a couple of them on a foreclosure site. She works with a mortgage company and said that you would be surprised at how many of them end up having to go bankrupt or putting their homes up after just a couple of months being there.

If you don't see the builders or Ty or anybody offer to pay for those things, then it's left up to the homeowners.

i read one story about a family who got a home and they had to pay taxes on the "gift". the utilities also went up. the town raised some money for them for the expenses.

i don't like that show. i think that they could build a whole nieghborhood new houses for the cost of one of these huge obscene houses.

the ffamilies have to pay property taxes, I would not mind if I had a brand new house.....
