It's a definite possibility of the strip working. Were you dilated and effaced when you had it done the first time? If not then I'd say get ready to have a baby. But either way, your so close to the due date that even if you are admitted and induced, just think of how much relief will come from meeting your little one. Good luck, and I think you should give it a try and see what happens. Congratulations

My doc did the same with me during my last pregnancy, and I had the same results as you. (I was 50% effaced and 3 cm dialated too.) It was painful, and it didn't do anything! I am 32 weeks pregnant this time around, and if my doc considers doing the same thing, I am going to speak up and ask that she let my baby do her thing naturally. You, as a patient, have the right to speak up! You are 39 weeks, you have come so far! With only a matter of days left, I would just hang in there and let nature take it's course. Good luck and congratulations!

The three common steps are:
1.- Pitocin
2.- Epidural
3.- A small cut
They will prevent pain, induce and help the baby to come easily.
Good luck and congratulations!!

it might, it might not. If you dont want it done, dont do it :) Eventually you are going to go into labor and have your baby :) So does it really matter if it puts you into labor today? Soon enough you will have a healthy happy baby in your arms. Its just a personal choice. If it hurts that bad you need to decide if its worth it :) Goodluck!!!!!

If it were me, I wouldn't let my doc do it. You will probably go into labor on your own, why interfere? If things are going along smoothly, leave it alone. Good luck.
