my son has the flutterbye dreams swing. he loves this thing. i think they all have two positions. his is still more reclined but he likes to have it sitting up sometimes. he is 25" long so far and his feet don't hang out. the weight limit is 25lbs. the mobile is cute and he loves talking to it and it has a mirror so he can look up and see himself. it also shifts positions. he likes side to side mostly but sometimes if i put it in the kitchen while i am cleaning we switch it up. good luck! oh and you might want to buy one off of craigslist.com since you have already had to buy one. you can find really great used stuff on there.

I think that your baby is ok in the swing while sleeping or being put in there when you can't watch him playing on the floor. When the baby is awake or not eating he should be playing. I have an almost 5 month old and I put him on the floor on his tummy alot. It helps his muscles develop so he can sit up. Then when he gets sick of that I either play with him or put himin a jumper. It's all about helping the baby develop and I don't know if leaving the baby in the swing is the answer. Maybe what you can do if you come home and see the baby in the swing awake, pick him up and hold him or put him on the floor. Try and avoid the swing while your around. Good luck and I hope that you find your answer!

I have one of the Fisher-Price Ocean swings, it is quite good, but the weight restriction on it is pretty low. And while the seat will hold quite a large baby the engine won't move them.
