He is a great guitar player but he is underated because everyone knows him for mixing songs and his singing people don't focus on how greata guitarist he is.

Prince is definitely underrated as a guitarist and musician in general. He's a master at arranging and can play just about any instrument on the stage. Consider the fact that the majority of the album Purple Rain was recorded in one night in an old airplane hangar (vs. months and sometimes years for other artists in professional studios) and you'll begin to see just how talented he is.

Yes and no. I personally believe Prince is a fantastic guitarist but he is actually the reason he is so underrated. Prince's show consists of much, much more than just showcasing his guitar work. It's the show in it's entirety that seems to matter most and that's what makes him such an exceptional performer.

Very underrated in my opinion. I would love for him to do an all instrumental album and just cut loose. It seems like alot of people just like him for his hits (which he has many) but he is more diversified than that. I saw him play live one time and his guitar playing, at times, dare I say had 'shades of Hendrix'. You cannot truly appreciate him as an artist until you experience him live.

No. Ask any professional guitarist, and they'll tell you he's mediocre at best. Most of the people that think he's the greatest guitarist "on the plant" have never picked up a guitar before.

prince is one of the greatest guitarist on this plant....hes so himself and it does help that hes a cutie and a half.....lol...bt anyway prince is a reallllllllyyyyyy rrreeeaaalllllyyyyyy reeeaalllllllyyyyy good guitarist and singer!!! :)

The likes of people in CRAPPY bands like Mcfly are way overrated.
