I sent a group email invite to a variety of friends from home, work and uni, some of whom don't know each other.
One of my friends did a Reply to All remarking on one of my Uni mates names' which sounds amusingly rude. These two friends have not met each other but all of our mutual friends from Uni were on the list.
How do I go about make sure that no-ones feelings have been too badly hurt and make sure that an idiotic mate doesn't put someone off coming to my party? Any useful ideas over revenge on the culprit, would also be welcome!

I guess it's probably important to note that the friend making the faux pas is my housemate/bet mate. I know it wasn't intentional and I don't need advice on how to deal with him (I'll give him a slap when I get home and that'll be fine) - it's more about how to make sure that the other party isn't too upset.

Ah well ... sh#t happens right? If the 'funny name' friend is cool with it (and I assume he / she have heard ALL the variations on their name in the past), then go right ahead and introduce them at the party. The plonker mate will need to apologies damn quick, but if they are both good people it should work out. I took the micky out of a bloke once as I thought he was pretending to stammer - WRONG! Still, I apologized and we became good friends.
Humans are animals at the end of the day, and it is natural, no matter what the PC brigade will say, to find weakness in others. Its just the pecking order coming through. 99% of the time we can stop ourselves saying anything just out of good manners if nothing else, but sometimes sh#t happens, eh?

Hey Finch:
I think you should talk with the rude friends and tell him how inappropriate his remarks were. Also let him know that he is not invited to the party because of his remarks. I would go to the other friend that was insulted and tell him that the rude friends is not coming to the party and those remarks were not in anyway tied to you. This friend will probably be forgiving and tell you..."Oh it's ok, the guy can come to the party."
When he does this contact the rude friend and tell him that he can still attend, because the other friend was forgiving.

Revenge is never an answer negativity invites more negativity. I would tell the guy that was rude what happened and ask him to appologise to the other person. It could be he never intended on hurting the other person. If he doesn't appologise uninvite him to the party. there has to be consequences to an action. Take care Heather

Just ask the friend that sent the mail to apologise to the person with the rude name if they refuse then they aren't much of a friend & if your friend with the rude name doesn't accept the appology then just keep them appart at your party
Where was my invite - lol just joking enjoy your party

I would first off send the rude friend a reply (just to her) and say OMG I can't believe you sent that, it was so rude." There are nice yet agressive ways of getting your point across. I would make sure to make direct contct with the friend she insulted to be sure she is going. She may not of taken any offense to it all.
