The Libs on this board and elsewhere see a connection between Bush's having been in the oil industry and the increase in oil prices.
But prices of almost ALL commodities rose by about the same amount at the exact same time. The reasons are pretty straightforward - in 2003 the dollar prices rose faster than the price in other currencies because of the weak dollar policy, the purpose of which was to stem rust belt job loss. From 2004 on the reason has been rising demand, principally in Asia. Maybe there was $3 of terror risk and another $2-3 of speculative long money per bbl, the latter of which going away a month ago when the hedge funds shorted, but other than that price of oil looks like the price of most commodities used by industry.
Anyone who has read the financial statements of the producers of these industrial commodities knows that volume is up on rising demand.
In '04, moonbats dreamed of conspiracies while realists bought Phelps Dodge.
Which are you?

Which am I?
I'm a guy who made a lot of money in the futures market. To add to your question; Bush must be a "corn man", too.

Patrick has a fact problem.
I checked the prices of various metals and oil. I choose metals because the asker did.
And guess what.
Oil has strong and steady price growth from about 2002 onwards. In 2002, the average price was 22.81 according to the DoE. It steadily rose until at the end of 2006 it sat at 60.40.
I then checked the prices of Zinc, Copper and Lead.
And guess what.
The prices of all three posted no significant increase during 2002-2006. True, the commodities prices have jumped, spiked might be more accurate, within the last 6 months but that isn't what good ol' Patrick said. He said they all rose by the same amount during that time frame (2003 onwards)
He says this to protect Bush. He wants you to think that - and I quote- all commodities rose during that time. That oil did not benefit from the hubris in Iraq. Oops...looks like the commodities Patrick himself chose (and researched of course) did not rise at the same time and by the same amounts. They held steady and only oil showed a 200% gain.
Either grossly incompetent or a lie.
Well, Patrick, like Bush you have been exposed. And over something so easily verified like commodities prices.

"Terrorist attacks occurred everywhere after 9/11 yet none ever befell on residing house soil." the position have you ever been before 9/11? "isn't this an extremely good fulfillment? he has helped unify international places antagonistic to terrorism and has higher your nationwide protection antagonistic to overseas international places" in hardship-free words some international places supported his "conflict", like uk (Blair), Spain (Aznar), Italy (Berlusconi) "he's way better effective than the present president. on account that Obama took over Somali pirates now administration the Gulf of Aden" they're no better effective than one yet another. both gave funds to corporations who messed it up. Pirates are the outcome of Dubya's conflict corporation.

Everybody knows Bush is just a tool of the tungsten industry, that's why he launched war on Afghanistan, to get at their tungsten mines.
