What is the best way to remove McAfee Shredder from my computer.?

My McAfee subscription ran out and I tried uninstalling to to install the Antivirus protection provided by my ISP. It will not allow my to install the new software until McAfee Shredder is removed. Any Tips?

Unistall McAfee and all its feature form Control Panel -> Add/remove programs.
Make sure you kill the task first Ctrl+Alt+Del and kill all Mcafee task ( usualy has Mcxxxxx program name ) before uninstalling.
