How do you rewrite this quadratic equation to equal 0

x^2 = 3x +12

After that how do you set it up in the quadratic formula

For this equation ........ x^2 +16x +60

I have figured out that that answer is (x,10) and (x,6) however I am confused now how to set this up in the quadratic formula.

x² - 3x - 12 = 0
a = 1, b = -3, c = -12
x = (-(-3) ±√(9 + 4 x 1x 12)) / 2 x 1
x = (3 ±√57) / 2
x = (3 + √57 ) / 2 or x = (3 - √57) / 2
x = 5.27 or x = -2.28

Assume what is meant is:-
x² + 16x + 60 = 0
(x + 10)(x + 6) = 0
x = -10 or x = - 6
In quadratic formula, a = 1, b= 16 and c = 60
x= (-16 ±√(16² - 4 x 1 x 60)) / 2
x = (-16 ±√16 ) / 2 = (-16 ± 4) / 2 = -20/2 or -12/2
x= -10 or x = -6 (as obtained above using factors)

it would be easier to solve this equation by completing the square method
x^2-3x=12
=>(x)^2-2*x*3/2+(3/2)^2=12+(3/2)^2
=>(x-3/2)^2=57/4
=>x-3/2=+-sqrt57/sqrt4=+-sqrt57/2
=>x=3/2+-sqrt57/2
=>x=(3+-sqrt57)/2

x^2+16x+60=0
=>x^2+10x+6x+60=0
=>x(x+10)=6(x+10)=0
=.(x+10)(X+6)=0
Therefore either x+10=0 or x+6=0
therefore x= -10 or -6

x^2 = 3x +12

subtract x^2 from both sides:
0 = -x2 + 3x +12

the quadratic formula is x = (-b +/-(sqrt (b^2-4ac)))/2a
where: a is coeficient of squared term
b is coeficient of linear term
c is the constant

therefore: x=( -3 +/- sqrt(9 + 48))/-2
x = (3 + sqrt(57))/2 and (3 -(sqrt(57))/2

x^2 +16x +60 = 0

x = (-16 +/- sqrt(16*16 -4*60))/2a

x² = 3x + 12

x² - 3x = 3x + 12 - 3x

x² - 3x = 12

x² - 3x - 12 = 12 - 12

x² - 3x - 12 = 0
