wonderful to be around and can be great company, amusing and able to tell stories and jokes. They have an instinctive understanding of human relationships and are great to help sort out problems and be a shoulder to cry on. Sensitive, kind and sympathetic, with an absolute urge to nurture and protect people around them, particularly the family.

Kind, sensitive, sympathetic, imaginative, maternal/paternal, solicitous, protective, cautious, patriotic, tenacious, shrewd, thrifty, resourceful, a good homemaker.

BUT Difficult to Live With!
Cancer has the ability to take an emotional wound and allow it to fester, without the desire to necessarily talk through and be open. Sometimes, Cancerians will expect the the person who inflicts emotional wounds to know exactly what ails them and a relationship can turn into a guessing game punctuated by long periods of silence and sulking, or a retreat into their shell.

Watch out for the mood changes.

To answer the first question; NO. It doesn't.
It's the first thing you're taught when you start studying astrology. The so-called 'star-sign' is only the sun sign. The sun represents the self, and is a very important aspect of the person's natal chart, but by no means is the only thing that influences that person's personality.
The three most important points of interest in a person's natal chart, are the sun, moon and the ascendant (the sign on the horizon rising) - descendant (the sign on the horizon opposite to the rising one, obviously) axis. The SUN is the commonly known 'star sign' and changes every month. The moon is in a different sign every 2 and a half days, roughly. It represents people's emotional nature. The Ascendant is technically not a luminary like the sun and the moon, or a planet, but just sort of an imaginary point. It still holds importance.
Personally I think the Ascendant represents peope's personalities more than the 'star-sign', and the definition of it holds a bit of the same idea; it represents how someone behaves towards the world, how other people see that person.

Apart from those 3 points of importance, there's also 8 other planets - well 7 planets and a dwarf planet, as of last year... - of which the inner - terrestrial - planets are the most important. They make up a huge part of the personality as well.

So all in all, not only a person's star sign makes up their personality; it's their sun, moon, rising, mercury, venus and mars sign. All those planets, luminaries and imaginary points can be in completely different signs altogether, and so someone's actual personality can vary from the traditional 'star sign personality'


All that aside, my 'star sign' is scorpio. My sun, moon, rising, mercury, venus and mars, are, respectively in scorpio, gemini, scorpio, sagittarius, sagittarius and capricorn.

Again, all that aside, my good points are that I'm curious, quite intelligent, I'm a go-getter, I'm creative, artistic and musical, I'm an eternal optimist but also a realist.
Bad points are that my ego probably has to apply for three citizenships, I can be brutally honest about myself or other people, I think out loud and I'm a multitasker. I also have zero-tolerance on less than average intelligence in other people and have no patience whatsoever. I also tend to talk or type a lot... o.o

Well that's me being honest again... for the record; all those traits are typical nearly to sagittarius, and not to scorpio, which is - still, sadly enough - my 'star-sign'

I'm a Capricorn and though some of my traits are in balance with my star sign some of them are way off the deep end, were supposed to be really good with money, I'm not, I save for what I want yes, but life is far too short so I spend otherwise, were supposed to be a bit poe faced too, I'm always happy and smiling, but I am a stickler for time keeping and very methodical, guess most people have some of their traits belonging to their star sign but best not to live by them or you'll never have a life.

The rest is just me and some is good, some is bad.

I am Pisces and have found that my natal chart reading is very accurate. I have Scorpio as my rising sign, Mars, Saturn and Pluto in Leo, Venus in Aries and Jupiter and the Moon in Sagittarius.
The daily forecasts online and in the papers are 90% wrong, but occasionally do get it very right. I assume this is according to the laws of chance.

yes to an extent it does but i havent had an in depth reading only profiles i can find on the net but ive read loads, im an aquarius and everything fits: Friendly and humanitarian

Absolutely,astrology has some effect on our personality,also considering that there's other factor's that shape our personality like heredity{genes} and environmental and religious influence.
