If a lot wood alcohol is taken( methyl alcohol) it is poisonous and sends you blind so I have read. I don't think it can be reversed if this is what you are asking.

I believe that the cure is ethanol. The ethanol competes with the
methanol, the methanol passing out of the body unmetabolised.
With no competition, the methanol is converted into oxalic acid
which affects the optic nerve causing blindness.

I agree with snurble. Medical Ethanol (hospital whiskey as ive heard it called) is administered to methanol poisoning cases and methanol abusers as its far safer and competes for binding sites when being metabolised. However there are, of course, cut off points for successful treatment and retinal damage often occurs

I think they can inject cortisone into the eye to reverse the damage to eyesight; but it has to be done within 8 hours or so of ingestion.
