that they are part of the problem?

Most them are sitting by a desk, using a PC connected to the web, have tunes on their ipods, buy latest trainers, video games, massive TV's. etc.

Are they hypocrites or just too stupid to realise they are part of the 'machine'?

Surelycoolgirl - I have no problem with capitalism and obviously people need to work, i work for a big corporation that 'rapes' the planet. I spend a small fortune on video games and clothes and all the rest of it, but i am ok with that.

My argument is not that people shouldn't work or earn a living someway, its more about the people that say they hate what capitalism is about, but they help it grow by buying all the consumer items that capitalism has made possible. They spend money on non-essential items and moan that the planet is being destroyed as a result. It's just double standards and hypocrisy

I think you misinterpret people's over zealous opinionated discussions on this sight to mean hatred for capitalism...

Capitalism and socialism both have their place and their success stories but too much of any good thing can be bad. Sure vitamin A is good for you but too much will kill you.

Capitalism has inspired the motivation to create in ways never before realized in human history, yet it has also inspired motivation to destroy...we've also invented more weapons of mass destruction in the capitalist United States than any arsonal in the world. While the positive end of capitalism gets stronger and stronger so does the negitive end.

I think its past time to find a balance and let the human mind settle down from the high paced changes taking place around us. Human beings are becomming more and more insane and I attribute that insanity to too many things comming at us too fast and the thrill of money skewing the way we think. We need to slow down and become a more balanced people.

No one hates everything about capitalism and I, for one, don't hate everything about socialism either.

I think your target is compulsive, blind, "consumerism," not capitalism. Even the economic systems that oppose capitalism, e.g., socialism, agree that raising the material standard of living of the population is necessary. In other words, both Adam Smith and Karl Marx would agree that PCs, good shoes, and other products can be a good thing. Obviously they would also both agree that the person who "must have" the latest trainers is a twit.

Naive is your economics knowledge. loose marketplace capitalism isn't something like anarchism and also you conserving it is merely would not make it so. I lived in a area contained in the 1970's the position a typhoon hit. there change right into a gas station that "value gouged for each thing of their shop as he had a generator and change into the merely sport on the city. even as state guidelines forbid value gouging, there change into no thanks to implement it precise after the hurricane. once all and multiple were given means, the shop went out of commercial business enterprise for lack of purchasers. See the loose marketplace regulated itself even in the previous the state ought to implement the guidelines. no human being shopped there and many human beings placed indicators caution others to circumvent the spot.

They are idiot hypocrites. If they really hated capitalism they would just steal everything they want since, after all everything belongs to everyone right? That will hold true until the instant someone tries to take something of theirs. They just don't like it when people have something they don't have.

Do you know the meaning of capitalism? How else are people to earn a living? It is what makes the world operate. What would you suggest? That we all make, sell, barter and no one ever earn a profit? How logical is that? I would love to hear your suggestions... please elaborate, if you will>>>

Well that's part of the way many people think, they have no problem talking out of both sides of their mouth and in most cases don't even realize they're doing it. I've heard so many people railing against the
capitalist systems but they don't seem to realize that they're a part of it.
