I’m not sure on any books that are a collection of inspirational short stories if that’s what you mean, but an inspirational story that I love is “The Power of One” written by Bryce Courtenay. That’s a fantastic book and has stayed with me since I read it.

The blurb:

"First with your head and then with your heart . . ." So says Hoppie Groenewald, boxing champion, to a seven-year-old boy who dreams of being the welterweight champion of the world.

For the young Peekay, it is a piece of advice he will carry with him throughout his life. Born in a South Africa divided by racism and hatred, this one small boy will come to lead all the tribes of Africa. Through enduring friendships with Hymie and Gideon, Peekay gains the strength he needs to win out. And in a final conflict with his childhood enemy, the Judge, Peekay will fight to the death for justice.

This classic story is one of the triumph of the human spirit - a spellbinding tale for all ages.

I've been going through 3 years of cancer and hepatitis treatments. The chemotherapy kinda gets to you after a while and I found Lance Armstrong's books a pretty big help. But my favorite is 'The Importance of Living' by Lin Yutang; it was written about 70 years ago, but was very interesting as how relevant it is today. It has an Eastern philosophical color to it as the author is Chinese, but he is an American-Chinese - so it's very well blended.
