Yes. Greed, pure greed and filth.

It doesn't really bother me. I can see why they do it. I hate it when I think I'm the first to answer a question, but by the time I'm done writing the answer, a million other people have got there before me.

Well, actually I sometimes do something similar but I go back immediately and answer. I think it got me two thumbs down earlier today so I am tryng not to do it now. I just type so slowly and have to correct so many mistakes!

I hadn't noticed it, but that would definitely annoy me! I bet at least one person answers your question with "coming soon" just to annoy you. Some people, huh?

What bugs me is when people ask a question that needs an answer that depends on their location, sex, age, race, religion,....
But they just ask a one liner question thinking people are psychic.
I also hate it when people misspell words on purpose thinking that it makes them cool or something!

I've never seen that before...but...I do not see what the point of it would be...sounds kinda silly to me....like...wooohooo....I gave the first answer....even though I didn't give an answer....the first answer is not always the best answer....as you well know!
I wonder what number my answer is....

No, because they are simply saving their space...most people choose one of the first 10 answers for best, unless one answerer happens to be a friend of theirs. I would say that person is simply smart!

I've never seen that, but it does seems very unfair.
People are used to cheating in everything, though. Isn't it bizzare you'd do it on something as banal as Yahoo Answers?
Sad.

it doesn't bother me, sometimes people have to ask someone, or look up a something, like a recipe at home.
It happened to me many times and those people gave great answers later on

Yes and if I were the asker and saw that, I would definitely not pick that person for having the best answer.

It's also making sure they get there points. It can be reported as not an answer
