I have bad cramps and the only thing I have around the house is pepto bismal if I take it will it help with my cramps?

I realize that menstrual cramps feel like a really bad upset stomach, but it is your uterus contracting (like mild labor pains) that causes the pain. Since Pepto-Bismol works in your digestive tract, it won't work.

No, the best thing for you to take is a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory like Aleve or Motrin. The pain is from prostaglandin synthesis and these meds will block this.
