Not so great. The famous snow festival has been affected by the lack of cold weather - they found it much easier to sculpt the snow, because it was rather soft, and then they had to cover the sculptures to stop them being melted by the rain..!!!

I'm on the outskirts of Tokyo prefecture, and we had a few flakes of snow a couple of weeks ago - they lasted maybe 7 or 8 minutes and did NOT settle at ALL!!
; )
Well, we WERE warned well in advance that it would be a MILD winter without much snow..! Makes a change for a long-range forecast to be right ... heck, it makes a change for a SHORT-range forecast to be right!!

I'm in the very northern part of the main island near Aomori. It will snow one day and then all melt the next!! My friends still go to the mountains for snowboarding so I guess the snow is all up there!

The snow this time is disappointing especially in Kobe (Kansai region). It has only snowed twice so far and its getting warmer...too early for spring
