I understand what you're saying, we seem to have become more and more obsessed with worldly goods but unfortunately its human nature.. we want more, better, bigger..

Communism hasn't worked when tried.. its essentially an ideal arrangement, the original concept of communal living, socialism but human nature means it cant work, we're too competitive and greedy!

Maybe the Buddhist monks have the right idea.. Ireland where I'm from used to be known for quaint rural religiousness..now its all about money, economy..not saying either way is good or bad, just stating a fact..

When asked what he thought about western civilisation Gandhi said he thought it would be a good idea..

Just try to live your own life in a more socialistic vein, its all anyone can do

Capitalism isn't the problem, it's unbalanced power structures and corrupt governments. Unregulated business practices and greed are the bad side of Capitalism, ie: WorldComm, Enron, etc. But that's nothing compared to 3rd world problems such as starvation, oppression and disease.

Even the worst places on earth (usually places that haven't adopted capitalism) have some form of capitalism embedded in them. Could a power structure exist without capital? Even those countries that choose to be enemies of America need to fund a war - there means of funding are illegal diamond, drug and human trafficing.

Socialist and Capitalist alike can and do pollute and reason a number of the climate exchange. that's the human way of thinking it somewhat is incorrect. we are able to all get in the vehicle and force a short walking distance to the shop and justify it as 'nicely it became into in basic terms for slightly of a distance' and 'it does no longer make any distinction what I did'. nicely it does gather to an impact. Governments and massive agencies won't spend money to lessen toxins except compelled to or it makes extra earnings for them. to declare human sort isn't the reason of a minimum of component of the subject is amazingly undesirable technological know-how while there is plenty data that climate exchange has handed off worst in larger human density areas. What needs to start to ensue is to envision ourselves, and admit to what we see. we are able to all locate countless the thank you to be kinder to planet Earth, our abode. decrease down on capability waste, stroll short distances while attainable, recycle and plant a tree or some shrubs around you abode. think of roughly what you do and it will all upload up if we are arranged to alter our very own behavior.

because basically delivers want we want. and we don't really care about those we leave behind or exploit. we've got all the guns and money and they have to dance to our tune or perish. most of us don't care whether they live or die as long as they deliver the goods in the shape of cheap produce and material. anyone who says that capitalism isn't based on selfish greed and exploitation is a fool or a liar. it benefits those who gets there first with most guns. i'm one of those who benefits from it and as such, support it even if it's just for the sake of my family. the only problem with capitalism from my perspective is that it's not sustainable, we're gobbling up everything too fast. but that's my grand kids problem not mine. anyone who says it will deliver for everyone is a stupid ideologue.

Firstly, please let me congratulate you on the recognition of our souls.. There are many atheists out there that are still in doubt about it.

Now to answer your question, basically, it's all about MONEY!!!
Throughout history, a battle of power and will has ravaged this world. By the introduction of industries (see 'Industrial Revolution, England - late 1800), humans (especially males) have seen the benefits of enslaving people to work for their bidding. It was a method to allow future generations to be born into a system; birth, school (to teach you how to work - not 'grow' as an individual), job, marriage, mortgage, children, death. A system which allows industries to prosper. Now, industries hold more power than governments, using propaganda (e.g. technology) in any way possible to stagnate human evolution of the soul.

Global capitalism is the most efficient way to generate the wealth we all need to live decent lives. Because of GC you have choices, if one of those is to live a spiritual existence with just the bare essentials, that's fine. But please don't try and impose this on the rest of us.

You have a choice. You could go and live on the side of a mountain in the middle of nowhere, with only mountain goats for company.
