Definitely! Go for it...but the ones that know best are your doctors.Natural child birth is something that every woman should feel once in her life time. But the health of the baby and the mother during the process is more important. Talk to your health provider and state your desire. There is no rule to C sections. You can have one and your next baby will have a natural birth! And congrats on that loving committed relationship you are in right now...that too helps see life differently!

We new from the beginning that my wife would have a c-section. However, our doctor made it so that they could wait until it was close to the (natural time*) to perform the operation. The doctor told my wife that this would make the birth more natural for her and the baby. I don't know if this will help, but I thought I'd mention it. Good luck. I don't think there is anything more special than having a baby. Even years later, I still remember my son looking at me for the first time. And how beautiful my wife looked, even after just delivering a baby.
* I don't know how the right term, but they wait until the baby is ready to come out before doing the c-section.

I have a friend who had 6 children, she had 3 natural and 3 c-section. (it was mixed, one way then the other) Don't be afraid! The worst case is another C. Sometimes it depends on why you had the C. Ask why and you will know the answer and maybe relieve some anxiety. I had 3 c sections because I can't have children naturally. Sometimes it's the pregnancy that goes wrong.

most ob/gyn will let you attempt to have a natural vaginal delivery after a c-section. It's called a V-BAC. But, your health, and history of your last deliveries will be taken into consideration when your doc makes that decision. Not everyone is a good candidate for this. It would be a good idea to discuss this with your doc before getting pregnant.

My sister has 4 kids, 2 by c section, 2 by vaginal birth.
It just depends on your body and the placement of the baby.
Talk to your Dr. Don't let another C section stop you from continuing your family.

You can most likely have a VBAC, talk with your doctor about your options. Every delivery is different, this one may be just fine. You may also need to know how the doctor cut you inside to determine if you can in fact have a VBAC- your doctor will have to check your old records. Good luck.

If you want a VBAC, you need to put it front and center when choosing your doctor or midwife. You need someone who is dedicated to helping you achieve this goal, not someone who says "well, I suppose we can let you try to deliver vaginally....." Not that you want someone who won't tell you when its actually dangerous, but someone who sees VBAC as a valid goal, not something to humor you in while counting down to the point where they cut you.
