It sounds like you are, but if the pain is bad, you should consider going to the doctor. Who knows, it could be something more serious like a cyst. Doctors took a cyst out of my sister when she was 4 months pregnant that was the size of a cantalope! I'm not trying to scare you (it's highly unlikely), but I wouldn't risk it in case fertility issues could come out of this.

If the pain gets to be a severe stabbing, throbbing or constant pain you need to go into the GYN ASAP. Try to not let them put you off, and if necessary go to the ER. Everyone is right in that you may have a cyst. I had one the size of a grapfruit and yes, they do come nearing the time of ovulation which it sounds like you are nearing. What you'll need is an vaginal ultrasound to confirm an ovarian cyst, and most of the time they will go away on their own along with your period. Sometimes they will rupture and thats very unpleassant. But, the worst is having a large cyst tort and cause your ovary and fallopian tube to twist cutting the blood supply to the ovary. In this case, a lot of times, surgical removal of the whole ovary, cyst and tube is possible. This has happened to my sister. She lost her left ovary and went on later to have 4 kids with her right one and has been perfectly normal ever since. However, you obviously don't want to be left with only one ovary if you are still wanting children. It's like being left with one kidney. You can make it one on but you don't have a spare anymore. So, don't worry about being a sissygirl. If the pain gets bad, go be seen. Some bad things can happen, but most likley it will go away on it's own. Some GYN's will prescribe a birth control pill for a few months to give your ovary a break for a while. This keeps it from coming back again next month. Hope you feel better.

Ovulation can be painful, you do not say how old you are. Also could be ovarian cyst, or other female problems if the pain worsens see you gyne. Try ibuprofen for the discomfort it works better than Tylenol.

Because of personal experience, I think you should go to the doctor if it's excruciating pain. I had a few cysts before that cause pain. Go to the doctor.....just in case, you don't want one of those to rupture. Good Luck!
